PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Construction is set to begin immediately on three separate projects at Mills University Studies High School. These projects include an addition to the existing academic building to include 10 additional classrooms, a new arena which includes ROTC facilities and a softball field.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday, February 28 at 3 p.m. at Mills University Studies High School with school and Pulaski County Special School District administrators on site. State and local officials were invited to participate in this momentous day. Special thanks to Representative Joy Springer and to Reagan Sharp (a representative from the office of Rep. French Hill) for attending the event. We also want to thank our PCSSD board members, Tina Ward and Shelby Thomas, for coming to the groundbreaking celebration.
The roughly $35 million dollar project is part of the Pulaski County Special School District’s Building for the Future bond restructuring passed by voters in November 2021. Additionally, these facilities should comply with the request from Judge Marshall in the federal desegregation case.
